Beautifully made. It's amazing how alike families can be, if not in the details, at least in the general vibe that comes through in family photos. This was like a Studs Terkel glimpse into America. Great music, too!
WOW! Don't know why it took so long, but this just showed up in my RSS feed this morning. Beautiful singing and that art is amazing, Dan! You are such a talented guy and I hope lots of people get to see what you're doing now.
Amazing artworks here!! And I love what y'all did. Could you perhaps post the lyrics, or just send 'em on to me, love to read them through as well. Cyberhugs all!
Oh wow! Thanks! What an honor! I am a HUGE fan of your Long Way from Home and hope it wasn't presumptuous to borrow the melody for this song! We were looking for a chorus to use during our Lent season and our themes were beauty, light and stars and so... Here are the lyrics. 1. And in the evening when the long day is done in the evening when the long day is done We will rest beneath the stars beneath their far-distant fires in the evening when the long day is done CH: Every star in the sky above Every star in the sky above We can rest our eyes on their glorious lights Every star in the sky above 2. We'll lift up our eyes on high We'll lift up our eyes on high For the maker of the stars is here where we are We'll lift up our eyes on high CH: 3. Oh the wanderers on the paths below Oh, the wanderers on the paths below They can find their way without the light of day Oh the wanderers on the paths below Thanks for asking.
I don't know Kate. Are you familiar with Tim Krekel, local to Louisville musician? Although he was a local guy, he was pretty well-known, played with Jimmy Buffett and others. As far as I know, it's his.
I sing a song in a minor key, dangerous like a murder mystery they's gonna be blood and black-eyed crows they's gonna be folks hanging in the corn rows They clawed them bones and gathered stones and walked in wild dark woods they wandered strange like a hurricane, like half-drunk weightless druids and when the nightwoods opened up they crossed a hidden door and those wondrous watchful wanderers went out wandering forevermore Nightmares dancing in my dreams lately they've been haunting me singing dark hymns throughout the night there'll be fear but there might be light...
Cool. Sorry I had not been to the Goat Walker, the guy I used to do music ith Micheal, Cash, I found out that 10 years ago or so He threatened My Step Dad;s first wife wh is His ex. She used to work at tht placecalled Bridge Haven. If e still goes there that is fine, but I would not want any conflict with Him and My family, I don't wantMy family in any danger. Michael King is fine, if He goes but if he He is there, I feel I should not be. He threatened Me also on My phone which I deleted the threat by accident. I meant to save the threat in case of any attempt. Sorry to say, unless some thing could be arranged. I love the Goat Walker and the people there. But I am a peaceful person and would want to maintain peace.
Best type of drill you have. I got one My self but hardly use it, though I should. but would be nice to have a drill press. Heck, wish I had a wood shop with all the tools lol.
Hey, i do art and make cd cover like art work. I can make some thing for them, just let Me know based on colors and stuff. Or if they can all get together with a photo shoot or some thing, send Me a picture of the group to s.mings@yahoo.com. I will edit and get the art ready and email back to ya. I'm trying My self to get together a music group maybe like that in maybe folk style. As youknow I make flutes but I also make other things and I play as you jnow Guitar, but also I play Keyboard, drums, flutes, bass, Violin, Stringed Harps, And I;m now recently learning to play the Mandolin. Anyway, let Me know, Oh, and I do the art for free as long as My name is listed in credits that is cool.
I My self, am some what disabled, I'm a lot slowler in learning but a lost faster at other topics like making things and art and as you know music, I also was a early patient when they started doing that thing where I think it called corrected eye surgery. Thy did with lacer or some thing, I don't know because I was asleep during the operation, but they told Me to keep sun glasses on My face for a while after and the reason was they did not know if I'd become blind or still see. It was in 1999. I have learned prehand just in case such though from the Kentucky School For The Blind. I'm glad I was able to till see because, learning brail is a lot harder then it seems. But that is a sence of touch and feel. I also have friends who are blind and some see but less then My ability. Sight is good to have, but all sences are good, the sence of smell, touch, hearing, Allways remember, these sences are there for a reason, but also I have other sences as well. Though that I can't explain to well.
Beautiful! ❤

That's David Dillard and Roger Thomas doing the bulk of the singing on this song. They were great. And Jon on the fiddle? Oh man!
Amazing artworks here!! And I love what y'all did. Could you perhaps post the lyrics, or just send 'em on to me, love to read them through as well. Cyberhugs all!

Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane, Dan!
Sweet Kentucky written by Richard Rawlinson. Lead vocal Rick, harmony Dave Trabue, both on guitars.
Cool, hard language to learn. I picked up a little japanese but not enough for a conversation.
love this! Love these!
Beautiful piece and wonderful selection of music to go along with showing the process. Bravo!
Is the Goat Walker back up and going or when does it open back up?
Not yet. We don't have a date yet when it will re-open. When it's safe again! Sure miss it, though.
@@SteveMingsFlutemaker Got it, and will do.
Dan, you are so lucky to be quarantined with this amazing woman!
Thank you for sharing this, Dan! Dennis is wondering if this is based on a traditional tune, and what it is.

Hey Dan, is the Goat Walker open this saturday or is it closed due to the Covid 19? It is ok if it is, but I was wondering,
Nope. Closed due to the Coronavirus.
Beautifully done!! Thank you, guys!
Dan, this is a delightful collection. Thank you so much for putting it together!
Love it!
